Not understanding how "it depends". How does a picture determine if the rifle is rare, it's a 77RS in 7x57? His is just a question of how many were made.

Only about 10% of M77s came with sights (M77RS), so all of them are scarce.

If the rifle was made in 1976 and Liberty marked it is very rare. If it was made later, not so much.

And, there are few very early rifles that are very rare in 7x57.

There are also some M77ST roundtop rifles with sights out there in 7x57. They are not rare, but scarce.

Box head, your are pulling my leg...right? IT DEPENDS. What Mcknight77 said in so many words is it depends. Now a picture would tell age, bolt configuration, Liberty or not. Is a Chevy Corvette rare? IT DEPENDS. Pretty simple concept. :? :wink: :? :wink:

Nice gun, clean, the RS is not common place, the R version is quite a bit more so certainly, but the gun is a round bolt (as compared to a hollow bolt or flat bolt, both of which are considerably rarer). As far as the price, which I presume includes the scope, seems a bit high, although the 7X57 is by far my favorite and by appearances in nice shape. I have one like it and hunt it. I think I would have interest for the gun alone in the $500-$550 area, but as I said I am a sucker for the 7X57.
