So it's very common to ream 357 handi rifles to max. I have one in the safe I did myself. Is there any reason this wouldn't be a good idea for a 77/357? Obviously it would be single shot but other than that I can't come up with a downside.

Thanks,
Stephen

Is the loading/ejection port long enough to let you eject an unfired round? Handi-rifles have no cartridge length limitation but bolt actions do.

Led, if the fired Maximum case will eject, it should work fine. One can always remove a loaded round by removing the bolt from the rifle. I though about rechambering to 357 Bain & Davis and using a 44 mag magazine and 44/77 bolt or opening up the bolt face on the 357 bolt. Either would give more performance. Bob!!

A 77/44 can also be rurned into a 45 with a rebarrel and some work on the magazines. I would think the 77/44 could handle full house 45 loads but dont habe any first hand experience with that. The 357 B&D would be a lot easier to do though and only need a rebarrel and give the performance a lot of people want out of a 35 cal bullet.
