I picked up a Ruger 77/22 with no 77/22 roll mark on the barrel or receiver. Any added value because of Rugers mistep? Thanks in advance, Bill

I don't have my RENE reference book handy but I'm pretty sure that will be an early serial numbered gun. Someone else will have to chime in regarding numbers of production but I think it was in the 1000-1500 range. Serial number in 700-01XXX range or lower?

RENE states around 400 made in the 700-010xx to 700-012xx range. I have 700-01077 from Terhune's collection, NIB with "HOLD" on the box. I only have it valued at $700, which is less than I paid at auction in 2008, but I don't think I've reevaluated that since 2008. I probably took a standard gun value at the time and a $100 premium to come up with that. I don't follow rifle values, but you might figure current value of a standard one and add some similar premium. RENE also states that at least 85 of the 400 were exported, so with 300 or so remaining stateside, it is considered rare, but I'm not sure how many 77/22 collectors might be out there to get excited over one.
