77/22, 1984??

Hello. My wife Sarah and I are both Ruger fans and just stumbled this forum. From what I've seen so far we'll be spending a lot of time here and we're looking forward to meeting everyone.

I have a question maybe someone can help with. I have a 77/22 in .22 lr with iron sights. The serial number is 700-08XXX and the rifle is mint. If I'm understanding it correctly, this should be a 1984, first year production rifle. Any info would be appreciated.

We all would love to see a picture of your 77/22, I really enjoy mine. Now I think about it I only a couple pictures of mine but here is one of it doing what it was made to do. Enjoy and welcome again.

Here's mine. No iron sights, but S/N 700-165XX indicates 1984 as the manufacture date according to Rugers website.



I've always like the clean lines of a no sight rifle, but I wouldn't mind tripping over one with the irons one of these days.

That is one of my first Rugers ser# in the 14000s and is the most accurate 22s I own. Welcome
