Why can't we have leaders with such backbone today? The dangers we face today pose the same potential threat to our way of life as in 1940, if not dealt with severely and with finality.
I love listening to Churchill speak. We are lucky he had the backbone to stand up to Hitler at that time.
Here are a couple of quotes of his I like. My apologies to the ladies.

I picked up a two-volume set titled "The Second World War" by Winston S. Churchill and the Editors of LIFE. It combines some of Churchill's voluminous writing with photos from Life's archives. As I read it, I can hear Churchill speaking.
Anyone speaking with clarity and certainty about real moral issues is not treated kindly by the press. This was true of Churchill, who was like an old-testament prophet warning about Hitler before WWII.
