7.5 " Redhawk 45 colt

So I just picked up a stainless Ruger Redhawk 45 colt 7.5" with integral scope mounts and rings and hogue grips. Why can't I find any info on this gun? All I can find is short barrel versions. Did they not build very many in 7.5"? What is the value of this configuration?

I guess I must be a dumbo. I thought the value of something is what a buyer will pay and a seller will accept. That makes the two of you more knowledgable on the value of 7.5" .45 Redhawks than the rest of us. What is one worth?

I don't know what the value is, but if you and the seller both left happy, then the selling price was right. Personally, I have the other two .45 Redhawks and would like to complete the “set” so the value to me could be higher than the value to a casual buyer. Robert

Well I guess I could be a little more clear. I took the gun on trade and don't have much into it. I love the Blackhawks and Vaqueros but this Redhawk is huge and doesn't fit my hand too well. I'm going to go do a little shooting before I decide if I'm going to keep it or not. I was just looking for a ballpark figure on what the thing is worth. I realize that something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay and they are many factors that determine that. I was just asking because I think I will probably end up selling it and I don't want to give it away. I can't find another one like it for sale any where to give me any idea of value.

The 45 is probably less common than the 44, and maybe even more so in the scope ring model, but I have seen both go around the same price. Lately this seems to be from about $650 to $750.

Condition, condition, condition.

Do you have the box, the envelope with the fired cartridge (unopened)? All paperwork and even the plastic disc and bag the gun came in? Does it have marks where the rings were attached or are the rings in the package unopened? Is the gun NIB or does it look like someone drove tent pegs with it or is it somewhere in between? Since it has a rubber "handle" we know someone has monkeyed with it and it is not NIB. The grip locator, disassembly pin and grips would have to be obtained at some expense.

In today's market, I personally would not pay the prices quoted above for anything other than brand spankin' new in the box. And I would have to think about it long and hard at that. New ones are out there. I got my 7 1/2" new for $440 plus tax from a shop 3 years ago and my used 5 1/2" also from a shop last year for $436 out the door. Robert

No box no papers just the gun. To me the condition of a stainless gun is not near as important as the condition of a blued gun. A stainless gun can almost always be brought back to near 100% with no signs of doing so, a blued gun cannot be. That being said I would rate this gun at 95%+ as she is.

The 45 Colt Redhawk Hunters are a scarce animal. It sounds to me like that would make an excellent hunting gun. The 45 Colt Redhawk has one beefy cylinder and can handle some very stout 45 Colt loads.

The 5.5 inchers are scarce as well and sell pretty regularly for 550ish. That gun has got to be worth at least 600-700 bucks I would think. More if you had the box, and other stuff.

When you shoot the top end "Ruger Only" loads it can be quite the beast!!

If you find you don't like it I would be more than happy to do a straight swap for one in 44mag?:)
