50th 44 Mag at CDNN

I just ordered another one of the 50th Ann 44 Mag. Flattops from CDNN. They are priced at just under $400 including shipping and they are down to less than 200 left. If you want one, it's time to get it ordered before they are gone.

This has to be one of the best Ruger values in the past few years.

And they are wonderful revolvers. The smaller grip, the flattop design, and the ability to shoot both Specials and Magnums is unbeatable.

I shoot mine mainly with 44 Specials. Nice gun.

I got mine last week and as soon as I replace the grips, it's off to the range.
Oh, figure 2 days to clean, they have been sitting for a few years---LOL

I bought a 50th Anniversary .44 magnum while waiting on my .44 Lipsey Special. It is a FINE revolver and will not leave here. I got mine "right", also. Best buy I have seen for years in an excellent hunting revolver.

Let's see:
1 - Modern flattop (better steel than the originals)
2 - Can safely load and carry six rounds
3 - New Alignment pawl for perfect unloading and loading
4 - Adjustable sights
5 - Properly sized cylinder throats
6 - Excellent accuracy.
7 - Steel grip frame
8 - Fantastic price

Did I mention about the coolest revolver design around? HUH? Did I, HUH?

I have both the 50th FT Blackhawks. And the Lipsey .44 FT in 5.5". Of the three, I would rate the .44 Magnum version last. It's a fine gun and obviously an excellent buy right now but the smaller frames and shorter barrels feel better to me. My .357 FT is the one I shoot the best with despite my preference for .44 Special in general. Those .357 FT 50th's would be my choice for "best deal out there" right now. (I'm sure I would like the .44 Magnum more if I bobbed the barrel back a bit but I just hate to do it!)

But would I really gain anything by doing so? I have two short .44 Specials right now. (A Lipsey FT and a custom built on an OM .357 frame.) If I cut the .44 FT I would end up with a handier gun but it would still be a little larger and heavier than my Specials. All that just so that I can shoot actual .44 Magnums.

If I didn't have the Specials, I would probably go for it. Since I do have them, I'm planning to just leave it the way it is. It's my only .44 Magnum long barreled SA so it is filling some type of niche anyway!

They are really nice guns. And worth far more than CDNN is asking for them!

Ya got that backwards.... all the other guns are over priced!

Download the catalog to see what guns (revolvers/pistols/rifles) they have. Some guns you must call for prices.

These things are such a good buy, I think mine was $386 shipped.

If I hadn't bought too many other guns this year (one's being delivered today even) I'd buy another one just as project gun. My first one's staying stock except for those cheese graters.

5.5 barrel, SBH square back GF, SBH trigger...

Maybe if they're still in stock after Christmas.

My new one came in today and I must say, it is the best of the 5 that I have owned. The trigger is sweet.......someone must have missed this one. It certainly does not meet the recent creepy, gritty, and heavy triggers that I have experienced. I am not going to touch the trigger.

Originally, I had planned to do a grip swap, but after handling it today, it fits pretty good with my two middle fingers on the grip and my pinky wrapped under it. I think I'll order a set of custom grips and shoot the snot out of it!
