don't mind the "hairs of grease" or the messy frame... i was in the process of cleaning when i took the pictures

ANY wear you see in the pictures looks worse on these pictures than it does in real life. In real life it looks pristine.

well my gunsmith when installing my sight accidently busted it. so i did it as a temp fix till a new one comes in i took a piece of "fiber optic" Lego( from when i was younger, it was a space ship antenna) and put it in there till next week. it looks like crap but it works pretty darn good and is brighter than the hiviz

i have noticed the peening problem has wore itself to look more natural now. instead of having a "lip" its just shiny now.
Im happy i decided to not send it to Ruger and just keep shooting it

Most times we see peening they get sent in as a more precautionary thing, but most SR9s only see peening like yours or mine, a little wait and see isn't a horrible idea unless the peening is already bad or getting worse.

Your gun looks fine to me. And 5000 rounds is a pretty good accomplishment. Looks like the SR9 will hold up after all.

yeah after shooting that many rounds, i am a firm believer that if the gun develops a peening problem shoot it until it actually becomes a problem.
IIRC i have only heard of 2 or 3 that peened so bad it hurt the function of the gun.

no its just a small blemish in the metal that was there when i bought it.
it is enhanced because of the flash of the camera.
