Not exactly a concealed carry gun, and definitely not legal in CA,NJ,etc. But kinda cool anyway. :mrgreen:

Named for the Slavic god of wind and storms, Grand Power’s new Stribog 9mm pistol complete with M-LoK rails and has a lot going on.

Announced earlier this month, the Striborg is nobody’s subcompact handgun, weighing in at over 5 pounds with an overall length of 14.74-inches but it does offer a Pic rail, an interface for a stabilizing brace and, naturally, a longer sight radius among other selling points. With that in mind, gun guru Rob Pincus and Castle Bravo’s Steve Rundall use one of these in an impromptu “Pistol Caliber Pistol Steel Challenge Competition” above.

With a lineage that started off as a select-fire subgun in Slovakia, Pincus was able to fire those slightly better equipped versions a little while back.

I'm sorry, but I think 'we' are asking for trouble claiming these weapons are pistols because the 'brace' on them is not a stock. That sure looks like a short barrel rifle to me.... putting aside that the whole ATF and NFA thing on short barrel rifles is unconstitutional... still......it is begging for more trouble in my opinion.

I own and shoot a Sig MPX with an 8" barrel. Here's a picture of it and you'll see it has a similar brace.

And you're not asking for trouble claiming these are pistols. They are pistols under the law and when you fill out your 4473 it's described as a pistol, as mine was.

The ATF over a year ago determined that using the brace as a shoulder stock was perfectly legal. Here's a link to a PDF of their letter stating these are legal to use using the brace as a shoulder stock.

You posted a picture of the exact same pistol I was looking at and coveting last week. And that right after my silly post....
I still think the BAFTE will probably figure out a way to redefine these once they get on their radar better.

I know a few guys who have 556 ar style pistols with arm brace and yes they ARE
classified as a pistol. ps

Legal in CA all you have to do is get an extra CA tax stamp in addition to the Fed one. Only problem is CA won't issue one (for hand held ones) except to places that rent to movie companies. I've often thought if I hit a big lotto I'd get into the movie gun rental biz just to be able to have the neat stuff. There are several tripod mount Brownings and a WWII Japanese gun floating around SoCal.
In CA a pistol mag outside the grip makes it an assault weapon. Brace/stock sbr/pistol question is moot since it's already an NFA item.

Just a carbine shortened enough to be sold as a "pistol". At that weight, pretty light recoil if you can hold it up.

I had a H&K MP5K, before they sold the SP89... shot it one day, and realized it had nothing over my Hi-Power. And it alarmed EVERYONE around when I pulled it out, even other shooters. So it got sold to someone who "just had to have it".
Looked awesome in the mirror, though. I call them "mirror guns".

Even though most videos I see are shooters using the brace as a buttstock, they do open up at the bottom and allow the strap to be wrapped around the forearm of the shooter, so it actually works as a brace.

As I said though, most shooters use them as a buttstock.

I've got all the parts together to build a 9mm AR pistol, but I didn't get a brace yet. I want to shoot it like a pistol and am not sure I'll need a brace.

You don't need a brace to shoot them but you do need two hands.

OTOH, they shoot smaller groups when using the brace on your arm and smaller yet when using it as a shoulder stock.

Mine folds to the side as shown in my post above.

The videos are interesting and entertaining, but is is certainly not for me.

I have 2 .480 Rugers, a SRH w/7.5" bbl and an Alaskan w/2.5" bbl. About once a year I get them out and shoot them just to make sure I still can.

The .480 is not that hard to control and certainly enough gun for an old fart like me. 8)
