Just got the gun only fired 325 gr hornady at paper and I was wondering what would be the best production round for hogs bear coyotes etc.

I would say just about anything you can get your hands on. It seems to me every time I am at a gun shop or big box outdoor store, all the .480 ammo is gone. If you have the equipment, it will be far better (and cheaper) for you to reload it. This way you can work up a round that best fits what you will be using it on.

As far as what factory ammo would be good for hogs, bear and coyotes? well just about anything out of that cannon will dispatch them critters in a hurry. The 335gr Hornady will do just fine.......little "overkill" for coyotes. :)

2nd on the reloading part. Opens a whole other world....and you`ll be glad your there.
load some 275gr, and you`ll be happy or shoot 325 and DESTORY everything you shoot. HAHAHA!!!

You might actually prefer 400 grain loads in the 480. The recoil is different with the heavier stuff; I prefer it to the fast snap of the 325s. Or, as others point out, reload. With that you really control your destiny and how much abuse your loads give on both ends.

The cheapest place I have found for factory Hornady 325 and 400gr XTP is here.
