I'd certainly measure the cylinder's throats prior to purchasing bullets.

You may need to use "non-standard" sized bullets, i.e. a bit larger than the usual 0.452".

Or, you may need to have the cylinder's throats reamed to 0.452".

PS Wil has hit the nail directly on the head.
 
The cylinder throats on my OM 7.5" measure .452 and those of my short barrel OM .454. Cast bullets of less than .454 dia. don't shoot worth a dime the short barrel. With bullets of correct diameter they both are wonderfully accurate.
