Does Ruger make a 45 colt blackhawk with a 5.5 inch barrel in S.S with real walnut grips like they ought to be any more :?:

I have looked high and low trying to find one ,I can't even find one on gun broker .. :?

Sheesh, buy one with the black plastic grips, toss them in the trash and get a pair of nice grips...........

What's the big deal? Been to any gun shows lately?

I cannot recall the last time I bought a Ruger revolver to shoot and didn't change the grips, grip frame, sights, base pin, timing, mainspring, trigger spring or something........ :D That's half the fun!

flatgate

There were two for sale few weeks ago on GB, opted for the 5.5" Bisley.

In the past they've done stainless too, so you may want to check the used market. As for grips, go with Flatgate's suggestion.....there're plenty of great custom gripmakers out there (many of which are on this forum).

Williams Shooter Supply has a run of SS 5.5" 45 Colt Bisley's with wooden grips that might ease your pain. Bob!

laminated grips but otherwise just what the doctor ordered

Yes, they made some 45s in the early 1990's. I own a covertible SS 5.5 inch Blackhawk which is currently in a safety deposit Box.

My philosophy too :) . I don't even look at the factory grips any more as I'll be 'changing them out' ASAP.

Buy an older 6.5" SS cheap with real walnut grips and no lock in the handle. Whack an inch off the barrel. You won't even need to reblue it after having the front site soldered back on.
