.45 ACP cylinder throat size?

While loading up some .45 ACP I had my NV Birds Head .45 ACP revolver out and tried slipping in .452 sized plated bullet in and a no go there. Are the throats on these sized to .451?
I was loading ammo for my semi-autos but do of course shoot same in my revolver.
The Berry's and Xtreme bullets I have measure .452

I will machine up a pin gage to .451 and see how it fits.
Given that the .45 ACP bore in the NV should be a .451 a .4525 sized cylinder might be the preferred size IF you want to shoot .452 sized cast lead bullets or even the plated bullets for best results??

Don't know but a little lathe work tomorrow will tell me what the size is.
All my .45 ACP bullets on hand are .452

I shoot .452 cast bullets in my Ruger .45 ACP revolvers and in my 1911’s
Without problem ,and quite accurately I might add.
Push a soft lead bullet through and measure !

I would slug the barrel and then see if that slug passes through the throats easily.

The revolver shoots well but just happened to check it while I had it out.
I may just slug the barrel and see how it fits thru the cylinder.

Most .45 Ruger revolvers seem to leave the factory with undersized chamber throats - frequently of 2-3 differing diameters. Forum members 2Dogs and Dougguy can rectify that problem easily and inexpensively, if you desire.

I have a couple of BH 45 LC's. The throats appear to be at .451. A jacketed bullet can go through but not my lead bullets. They have been accurate enough without signs of leading.

I know many people in the forums immediately want to ream these throats. In reality as long as the throats are not smaller than the bore size, you should be ok.
