41 magnum society

Hello, I'm new here. I found this forum by accident. I went online and asked about the 41 magnum society and AI sent here .Has anybody heard of the "41 magnum society" and know what happened to it. Seems like the last post was years and years ago 14 years or something any information would be helpful, thank you.

First of all, I don't even own one. Never have. I shot a friend's 41 mag once. He loved it. In fact I knew 2 guys who had them, but this years ago, that really loved that cartridge. In fact, I've never heard anything bad about them at all...That's the problem though, as you don't hear much about them period. Are there guys out here that like their 41 Magnums ?? If so, please let us know what we have missed or what we are missing out on ??

No clue, but have 1, a S&W that I know who owned it and the police activity it was involved in. I carry it on the few occasions when I am in moose or grizzly areas. It mostly sits in a gun safe. Gets shot about once a year at the range.

The one on top with the black grips is a new model Blackhawk 41 magnum? The one on the bottom with the wooden grips, is is also a 41 magnum? But it's an old model black Hawk with a conversion kit on it. They're both great guns. I've had them for years. The black one I got from a friend of mine that died. I bought it from his estate. The Brown one I bought at a gunshop used about 20 years ago I love them both they're great. I'll post more pictures of my other stuff later.

Never heard of it, but love the caliber, and have 3 revolvers in .41 mag.
S/W model 57 no dash with paperwork and box.
Ruger Bisley Hunter with box and papers
S/W model 657 with box and papers.

I have a Freedom Arms 41, a Ruger Bisley SS that Harton slicked up and a Marlin Cowboy rifle in 41. My dad has a nice S&W model 57 that I will inherit one day. It is a great round.

I’ve never heard of it either, but I do have a Ruger 41 magnum. About twenty years ago I bought a Ruger 44 magnum with a 4 5/8” barrel. When I went to the range it I found that I could no longer handle the recoil. When I got home I went on to another forum and found a guy wanting to trade his 41 for a 44. We traded pictures and agreed to do that swap. That was a huge leap of faith. We both shipped our weapons to our FFL and everything went as planned. Today I would never do that again.

Never heard of thew ".41 Magnum Society" either but it's a good round. I've loaded 265 gr Lead gas checked bullets to near .44 Magnum power. The 210 gr ammo you can buy on the retail shelves is much easier to handle, recoil wise, than the .44 Magnum and isn't nearly as loud as the .357 Magnum. I feel the .41 has the best attributes of both the .44 and the .357!

The 41 magnum is a great round. We got a Redhawk in a trade and then seen a good deal on a 10" contender barrel. Both of these 41 mags are shooters. Brass is pretty easy to come by but it is definitely an advantage to handload for it.

This is the first Ruger Blackhawk I ever bought it's a 41 magnum, 4 5/8" barrel. This is the gun that started my love affair with the Ruger Blackhawk I bought it in the 90s at Huntington's in Oroville, California. To me, it's a beautiful machine.

Same here. My first Blackhawk back around 1986 was a .41mag, and I have been a big devotee of Blackhawks and .41mag ever since.

My first Ruger was also a Blackhawk 41 mag.
I bought it from a journeyman electrician who I was working with.
He said that he was going to let his revolver go to the pawn shop. I didn’t know what a pawn shop was let alone what a Ruger 41 mag was.
It was going to cost him $100 to get his Ruger out of the pawn shop.
I gave him $100 and he gave me the Blackhawk with holster and two boxes of ammo.
Later I gave it to my 21 year old brother that wanted a pistol but had 2 kids and couldn’t afford any extras.
He still carries it 44 years later

shot my 41 redhawk yesterday, my brother brought his newly purchased 41 blackhawk over. once he got it sighted in we both shot quite well with my cast bullets and reloads
