Saw one at the gun show today I was surprised. Steel grip frame. 4 5/8 barrel. Anybody know about these? I did not buy it. i was sore tempted. But I really want a al grip frame shooter in .41 mag.

Yep, they came out in limited numbers in 6.5" and 4 5/8" barrel lengths. I was lucky enough to snag a couple.

The 2nd and 3rd are 41 maggies:

You might have wanted to buy it.....I did!!!!

woodperson,

It's a lot easier and cheaper to find a standard 41 Blackhawk w/ribbed rear sight protection and Alum grip frame since that's what you want, than the Flat tops with smaller steel XR3 grip frame. Same size cylinder frame also.

Whooooooooo, Arok, very nice indeed....I managed to find one of the 6-1/2s" (below with a pair of grips I made up to improve on the Cheese Graters), but have never seen or heard of the 4-5/8" model, my favorite length in the BH frame. Mine is a great shooter and in that wonderful caliber. All that said, unless you're a handloader, it's difficult to feed one. Here's a pic of one of it's great targets, shot from a back rested, sitting position from 25 yds, a great practice load. If you're interested in trying it, remember to work up, as always, after consulting a good loading manual!...Best Regards, Rod
