Here's a 1956 Flat Top with an "OK" box, NON- Converted, nice grip's, the gun is in "Killer" shape! very light wear, zero tear....NOT a re-blue.....about as nice as they come.

4 digit would be a 6.5" bbl. The 7.5" barrels didn't come out until 1959 or so, so into the 5 digit numbers. Also, a good give-away is that the box end label doesn't say BKH47 or 7.5" bbl, it is uncatalogued, which Ruger didn't need to have at that time since there was only one 44 mag in their catalog.

I'm starting to believe Scott has a time machine...some great offerings on the board from Mr. Deerstalker. I got a great shooter OM 41 from him a while back and I couldn't have been happier with the transaction.

Not to hijack the OP's post... I'm just wondering about your statement regarding 7 1/2" bbls. on 4 digit Blackhawks (.44).

I held one in my hands, today -3xxx range, from 1956.
Is this a rarity?
