I believe wood grips were a $5 option until they decided to stop the hard rubber and have all wood. This 44 is a great buy as the box was worth a solid 1/3 of the price. Good purchase.

It was a great buy. I have one like it with plastic grips and was told they should be wood is my only question. If I didn't have it, I would have bought this one.

The grips are Butylene rubber, not plastic.
