I took my 375 Ruger Alaskan model out for practice. I shot only standing and at 50 yards. It actually seems fairly accurate. Overall a very nice rifle and I'm loving the Ionbond finish. I wish Ruger would make more rifles with this finish. Anyone know why they stopped?

This is a group the rifle shot.

The front sight is plastic but looks like ivory.

The rear sight is a simple express style. Fast but not conducive to great accuracy.

Here's a picture of the finish itself. If you have not seen one, it's a very dark grey to black and weather impervious.

Overall picture of the rifle.

The recoil is not bad at all. I like shooting it. Most of the shooting I do with it is from field positions so the recoil is minimal

I thought the Alaskan was dull stainless and a Hogue over molded stock?

It was. Ruger did a limited run in Ionbond. I sold the Hogue stock and replaced it with the wooden one. Got it pillar bedded and it shoots great.
