To recommend 'any ammo that you have around the house' or 'run-of-the-mill rounds' or 'a simple and cheap cast bullet' or 'a bullet of the correct caliber' or 'any ammo in the correct caliber' for self defense, whether for the 357 magnum or not, is irresponsible. Get real guys. A powerful round will stop most people, but what works best? ...and why settle for less in your self defense and carry weapon?DGW1949 said:Deflecting a bit there aint ya Jimbo?
Sorry if I hit a nerve.....but hey, if the shoe fits.

I want to make sure that I have a good gun and good self defense ammo that will do a number on the intended target. If you want to settle for less, so be it.
To recommend inferior products for self defense without a caveat explaining it is your choice alone and why, is absurd.
