I got a chance to shoot my Stainless Flat Top with the 5.5" barrel today. Using American Eagle 115 FMJ ammo I hit 4 pop cans @ 25 yards with the sight cranked all the way down. The other two shots I attribute to trying to find a sight picture with my transitional bifocal lens glasses. My focal point with these lenses is nowhere near where it used to be (upper right corner of lens ). Now it is middle of lens about halfway down.A new learning curve for sure. A lot of people are reporting that their gun is hitting low with the tall front sight . Mine has a tall sight and it is working for me. Aiming so that the front sight was covering a 5" rock in a dirt bank at 122 yards it was hitting right on with 3 out of six hitting the rock if I did my part. One of the shots dropped low but I felt myself drop the muzzle on that shot. The other two shots were on either side of the rock. Shot a cylinder at a rock out at 192 yards and with the rear sight still all the way down I had to hold what looked to be about 1/16" high on the front sight to be on the target ( rock )! I guess it is just all in the way you grip the gun to get it to hit to your point of aim. I use a medium-firm grip and don't lock my wrist. I didn't have to adjust windage at all. I've had to put a taller sight on most all of my Blackhawks and also on my Bearcat to get them where they hit for me. Right now I need to get a taller sight on my OM 30 carbine and all will be good. All yardage's provided by a Bushnell Elite 1500 Range finder.
