327 Blackhawk?

I've got one too all stainless, not for sale, but are you looking for one? Have you found many? And if so at why price?

There there is the one member here who has the factory pinto version. Which would be like very rare squared.

Saw one at a LGS, first one I've seen in person. Thought it had a short barrel, buddy I was with thought it was a 5.5. Wasn't really looking for anything, but walking out of there without knowing more about them (other than they're discontinued and most times fetch good $$) was bugging me. A bit of computer work, learned more. A trip to the ATM freed up the funds, stopped by the store and bought it for $550, supposedly NIB, and it looks it. Will have it in hand Sat, too much after school chaos with kids to get paperwork done....and it does have the 5.5" bbl.....Thanks for the help, Bill

So now that it's home and in the safe, I have 2 more questions.....again it's, the as produced, sold as NIB Ruger 0353 SS Blackhawk 327 (Serial #38-0929X ) with the 5.5 in bbl and it looks like it just came off the assembly line. It has all the paperwork and everything including the plastic bag it shipped with, however it did not have a lock with it, were these included when these were originally shipped? And the fired cased envelope is stamped Mar 2011. From what I read I thought these were discontinued in 2010, is it possible that this was a late production or end of the run revolver, or does Ruger send another fired case out with the revolver if its returned for service. For what its worth, the face of the cylinder has only 3 burn rings from firing - Thanks to all for your help - Bill in MA

You got a great deal. I paid $550 for mine back in 2008, new from the dealer. Sorry though, I can't help you with your question about the serial numbers. I don't think there is a subcategory for the 327 under the Blackhawk serial number production dates on the Ruger website.

Nothing is absolute with firearms manufacturing. The order to discontinue that model may have been given in 2010, but those still in the production process at the time of the order may not have been completed and shipped until 2011. Or it could be a cleanup gun using up left over parts.

What is the left side of frame stamping exactly?

Jim - Thanks for me helping out, yet again! The left side of the frame has a 2 line marking "Ruger 327 Magnum Cal" and then "New Model Blackhawk" with the Blackhawk part slightly canted to the right (italic like). Looking closer and as expected, the warning is on the bottom of the barrel. The exact date of the fired case envelope is actually Mar 5, 2011 and the last 3 of the serial number match the revolver. I'm guessing that it probably came with some sort of lock, as I checked 2 other Ruger boxes of Blackhawks, I bought new in mid '11 and mid '12 and both had a lock with them, so I may have answered my own question. Thanks Bill

IIRC, these were only made one year, in one style: 6 shots, 5.5" barrel, stainless.
I believe these were 8 shooters and not 6. And the did do some pinto versions with the blue ejector rod housing and cylinder.
