I have two guns on hold, trying to decide on which one I will buy. The first is a 1970 with both cylinders. The magnum being marked as magnum. I was thinking that OM were not marked.
The second gun is a Bisley. Only one cylinder and original box both guns $399 each.
There are also some of the old model drift adj sight models and a light weight SS.
I wish I could do both but that isn't in the cards. I just bought two Bisley blackhawks and my Dad a new 9mm.
I guess Im asking what would you buy?

There's no wrong answer here.
Whatever YOU like and YOU can afford.

Me? I like old models. For me, that's where the nostalgia is in shooting and hopefully where the money is when time comes for me or my heirs to sell them.

Hitman, my thought process is similar. Value at resale is usually a thought on my purchases. Im not buying with the plans on selling. But with life you never know what we will face.

The Old Model Mag. cylinder should not be marked, it should be fluted with no marking on it. The .22 LR cylinder should have a firing pin grove in the back of the cylinder and the Mag. cylinder should not. Looking at both cylinders that is the only difference that you can see between the .22LR and the .22 Mag Old Model cylinders.
