No not really, I have the Smith m63 since 1987 and it is so smooth to shoot. The Ruger sp101 is a 8 shot and a little heavier than the smith and maybe that is why I shoot just a little more accurately. But both are very nice

Like dobegrant.45 above, the smith 63 and ruger sp101 are my favorites but I like them all.

After 45 years of 63’s and 34’s, this is the best:

Model 34-1 Smith and Wesson Kit Gun and Model 317-3 Airlite. The 34-1 has a Tyler T-Grip and the 317-3 has a Sile Combat Grip. Both are excellent. You don't even know you are carrying the 317-3 and the 34-1 is almost new.

My only .22 revolver is this Single Six; I use it with its .22 WMR cylinder.

I would not recommend it. Of the 10 handguns in the above picture, the Charter Arms pathfinder is the only one I regret buying.

I do have a snubby 63 that looks new but that is because I can't shoot it very well so it never goes out to play.

Needsmostuff you have the best thing invented for the double action revolver on your Model 63 Kit Gun. The Tyler T-Grip! A close 2nd is a BK Grip if you can't find a Tyler T-Grip. If you order from Bryan it takes forever to get it to you but he will fill your order. You say bad words and think you got stiffed but then a small package shows up. If you can wait it's worth it

They are generally small, lightweight, .22 rimfire revolvers, designed to be easily packed in a hunting, camping or fishing "kit".

the kit title is misleading, they are fully factory assembled

Small handgun that is easily carried in your kit bag or pocket or a holster. Usually .22 caliber with a 4 inch or shorter barrel. The term was used by Smith and Wesson to sell their small frame .22 revolver to people like trappers and farmers and other outdoorsmen who have need of such a piece. Something that is used to shoot trapped or injured animals and anything else that a small handgun could be used for.

317-3 Smith and Wesson Kit Gun with an ESEE CR 2.5 knife and a pocket holster. The holster is marked for a .32 Hand Ejector with a 3.25 inch barrel and fits this one perfectly.

Thanks guys, for the education.
We have never carried handguns when we are hunting, just our rifles.
Except my grandpa carried a 30 cal Luger on his hip when hunting cats.
He had to use it a few times when he would shoot the cat out of a tree
and was still alive going after his hounds.
