i have a 22/45 pistol. been in the safe for 15yrs, so go out to shoot it yesterday, and since i have been shooting 1911 and CZ single action autos with no creep triggers, this 22/45 is all stock and has creep, so i want to to the trigger, some say you only need the sear and others say you need to get the whole Vol, kit for 100 bucks, dont want to spend that kind of money, can i get by with just the sear , also installing the mag release button or spacer,

thanks
Chet

There are several ways to approach tuning up your pistols trigger and operation. The factory sear can be reworked, with the proper equipment.

Or, you could purchase the Volquartsen sear and and get a trigger pull weight around 2½ to 3, measured pounds.
The kit includes another hammer, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with your factory hammer. An aftermarket hammer bushing for $11.50 will shed the magazine disco parts so magazines "click" into place more positively and eject in a blur.

Pre & over-travel can be adjusted to minimal by having adjustment screws and a steel trigger pivot pin sleeve installed in your factory trigger. Or you can purchase either of the Volquartsen triggers from $35.00 to $40.00 which both have those adjusting screws.

Creep involves the actual amount of contact between the sear and the hammer notch. Some amount of creep must be present to maintain a safe fire control system. Because of the allowable tolerances involved with sear and hammer bushing pin locations, adjusting creep is a stone, and then try, method, and again, having the right equipment is paramount to success.
