I posted this in the smithing forum as well but I know from other forums it may not get seen by people that don't visit that section. I have a Ruger 22/45 Lite that I want to have anodized purple for my daughter. The inner barrel nut appeared to be stuck but upon further review it looks like Ruger does not recommend that you remove it because it has a proprietary torque value and epoxy holding it in place. Has anyone removed one and installed it with any success? I do not want to ruin the gun but I would really like to make it purple for my daughter to match some of her other ones.
