2012 Gemini SP101 2-1/4"

I wanted to share some pics and initial impressions of my new Gemini. I had Marc order the gun so I can not compare how the trigger, action, feel or finish compares to a stock SP because I have never handled one. Overall I am very happy and zero buyers remorse, this has been a handgun I have wanted for a couple of years. It will never be a safe queen as it will be shoot often.

I can tell you the trigger is very smooth and set to 10 lbs. I did shoot it with only .38 spl ammo at an indoor range where it is fairly dim and the porting did not affect my vision at all with the dreaded flash that many people would think coming out of a ported snubbie. The porting and heavy weight does keep the tiny 2 1/4" barrel on target.

Marc makes the grips himself and these are some cocobolo wood. I do like the different grip angle of his grip compared to the stock ones. Stock grips kind of create a 90 degree hold on your wrist. The Gemini grips flatten out that angle, and that makes it more comfortable dealing with the recoil. If the grips look familiar it is because Marc said he purchased the badger grip makers equipment.

New 101's have the barrel warnings written on the underside of the barrel so I had it removed from this one for an even smoother look without having to reshape the barrel.

That is a great looking EDC revolver.....clean lines, great looking grips too.

Very nice! I think my favorite part of that gun is the missing "read warning label" crap on the side of the barrel!! One of these days I'm going to have to have someone take that off of mine.

Sweet piece...I just recently got one of these myself but went with the 3 inches. Marc is a class act all the way. Like you I wanted mine for years. It is kind of funny but while I was waiting I searched the web for everything I could find about the company, the guns, and the porting and one of the posts I found was one I made myself when I first joined the forum years ago asking about Gemini. You have a functional piece of art, throw some full house magnums in there and enjoy.

psmith27, nice gemini. I see you went with the gold front sight. I was torn between the 3 incher and the smaller barrel. As long as its a Gemini I guesss there is no wrong answer.

I just remembered an interesting point. The lead time was expected to be 4 weeks to have the gun made. Marc called me about three days after I placed my order and said it was ready. Since he was working on a run of 8 SP's and due to the simple options I choose he was able to knock it out in a day. Talk about timing

I would be interested in chronograph data of .357 ammo fired from this gun. It looks like a lot of porting to me. 8)

I did a lot of research about the porting and found an old post by jack weigand, the inventor of the process that said you can expext to lose about 100 fps...i was totally fine with that as the effect on muzzle rise is amazing. I can fire my whole cylinderin the time it used to take to get two well aimed shots off. I will see if i can find the post when i have some down time. The ports themselves are not all the same size, and the diameter of each individual port changes from top to bottom.
