*****Correction..... Sorry guys, it's a '54*********

Hi, I'd like to sell my '53 Single Six. I don't really know a ton about these, but here goes nothing!

I bought this pistol at a pawn shop to use as a plinker....didn't come with a box or anything. A few days after I bought it, the guy from the pawn shop called and tole me he found the box for it, and that it might be a lot older than we had thought. I started to do a little research into it. I like the history behind this pistol and I think Its really neat; but I'm not really a "collector" and would rather see this pistol go to someone who will appreciate it for what it is a lot more than I can.

The pistol got the safety "upgrade" in 1994 (according to the paperwork I found in the box), but it also has a plastic bag from the factory with all of the original parts. It has a 4 digit serial number, which the guy from the Ruger customer service line said means it was made in the second year of production ('53). Also in the box was the original manual and all the paperwork from the safety modification. The gun itself is in fairly good condition. It has what appears to be some holster wear, but the blueing is mostly still intact. I took it to the range once and it shoots great!

I'm not 100% on what its even worth, and to be honest, I'm not really interested in getting a bunch of cash for it. I would be much more open to trades for another firearm. I live in Missouri, so if anyone wants to do a face-to-face thats fine with me, otherwise, we have to go through a FFL. Thanks for looking!!

Joe

I'm in St. Louis.

I'm interested in pretty much anything I can shoot. I'd like to get a 1911 or P220 just 'cuz I don't have one, but I'd really be into an AK if I can find one. But like I said, I'm open to anything.

I seriously don't even have a ball-park number on this.... There are a few on gunbroker, but they have much higher serials and no paperwork... maybe somewhere around 850? If I'm way off base please let me know.... you won't hurt my feelings and I really don't know the value of something like this....

Joe,
its a 54 gun, 2nd year, peaper work and box are NOT from 54, guns been changed, but the good news is that you have the parts, i have one with a lower ser# then that. nice shape, going for around $450-500.

pm sent with offer.
