10/22 TD custom stock

Does anyone know a stockmaker who has experience modifying a Factory carbine stock for the takedown 10/22? The 10/22 stockmaker in Medina OH (near where I live) hasn't yet made the pattern. I have a nice laminate one and don't have the time or access to a workshop and would be very unhappy if I mucked it up. Thank you.

I am going to take a pink laminate one and go to work on it. HOPEFULLY a youth model if I can find one.

All I plan on using is a band saw (buddy has one), a table router (easy to rig), and a dremel... It doesnt look all that hard, but Im sure Ill marr it up nicely.

If you find someone that does a good job, please let us know :)

My compliments to the guys who did these. Thanks for the instructions. When my eyes were sharper, hands steadier and had fewer B'days I probably could have done something like this. Maybe I can find a local to do mine.

I've done 3 of them. Of course I recontour the stock and slim the forend to give it a better look, then checker it to the pattern the costomer wants. They wanted to use the walnut stocks. This finish is the high gloss, but I've also done satin as well.

If you find the wood, the labor runs $325 complete. If you don't want any checkering it drops the price to $225. I use my takedown to fit everything so all I would need would be the wood. Gabe

DB I'm 65 miles west of Louisville KY. I also had a pair of Exhibition burl Maple grips I had made for my 1911 so I converted them to my Lite.

My TD stock done up by Forum member Gabe. He sent these images for my approval before returning it. Ordered matte finish and finger grooves.

I HIGHLY approve and will post pics of mine upon completion. :D DB

Did you make my grips? Hahaha...I don't know what you mean. I got them off eBay. They are obviously hand made which makes me like the little things one can see if examined closely. Much better than machine made.
