Nice. What do you mean regarding the dealers and selective stocking, etc.?
What kind of scope is it, and what will you replace it with?
The dealers in my area just never seem to stock the guns I would buy, so I usually do all my business from folks on this forum, or other on-line sources. Seems the guns that dealers wont stock because they don't think they would sell, certainly
wont sell if the dealer wont stock them. I'm sure they have no idea just how much business they miss from folks like me.
The scope is a non-adjustable objective 3x9 Simmons, which is actually an okay (low-budget) scope, but my eyes are such that I use adjustable-objective scopes nearly exclusively. I know the AO feature is not designed to be a focusing feature, but it sure does work out that way, well, for me. I will replace it with an AO Leupold, Nikon, or Bushnell Elite. The rings are two-screw, and I've discovered thru a lot of experience that the lightly-built rings just don't hold tightly enough, even on a 10/22. Plus they are too high for a 40mm scope.
Lastly, even though the metal trigger group is superior to the plastic ones I've bought over the last few years, it still is not up to the standards a gun like this deserves. I've been using the complete trigger group assemblies from the likes of Volquartsen, and they are just what the doctor ordered.
WAYNO.
