10/22 target model stainless

Spotted a stainless 10/22 with a forged spiral finish heavy barrel. laminated stock, serial number indicates 2007 manufacture. Excellent condition, although they are asking a bit more than the 30th Edition Blue Book shows for a 100% K10/22-T Target Model Stainless.
Any reason to stay away from these, I see they discontinued them in 2008.

Don't know what the price they're asking,but I had one of the hammer forged guns.IIRC I paid $300 for it.It shot really good.Just didn't keep it in that configuration long.Pulled the barrel and sold it.I like the tapered barrels better.I put a 22"GM fluted taper on it and still have the gun.Slow

That 2007 model would have an aluminum trigger group JFYI..
My Buddy bought one just like it for $330 about 6 months ago..

They want $449.99, seems maybe a bit much. I might enjoy one of the new Mannlicher stock models more, but maybe that is apples and oranges. This will be my first venture into semi-auto rifles, have been strictly bolt action up till now. But I figure 5,000,000 Americans can't all be wrong, seems like there must be a lot of fun to be had.

Don't think the new ones will shoot as good as the older ones.Just from what I've seen around here.Especially with the"new"finish.They just don't look the same.

What does finish have to do with function? Today's stainless and baked-on-finish 1911's sure don't look like a "proper" civilian blued or military parkerized finish, but they still shoot.

This is complete crap.... I have a new DSP that shoots as good as a full tilt unlimited with a Green Mountain bull barrel. The new rifles shoot every bit as good as the old ones do in my experience. And the new one has a better trigger than the old one with the same amount of work.

Of course YMMV!

No argument with the "I'll take the older ones any day." We all have opinions and they are just...opinions. What works for you should work good. I know that in some ways I too would rather have an old one, but the accuracy that I have gotten along with the trigger, makes me like the new ones also.

I have no real use for the 44 special,which runs counter to the current rage. The first single action that I bought was a 7 1/2" SBH and I have been hooked on the 44 mag ever since. That doesn't mean that the 44 mag is better than the 44 special, I just like it and that's what matters to me........same with the new 22s I guess, I just like 'em.
