10/22 Talo M-1 carbine

Just got one of the recently issued 10/22 in a M-1 carbine look. has the rail mounted in place of the rear site. Would like to mount a rear site, as opposed to a scope, that resembles the original Carbine site.

any ideas as to who makes one, which model, etc. to help speed up the acquisition??

Some folks use Tech Sights. They kinda look a little like GI sights.

I'm going to cut a dovetail in a standard Weaver mount and use a real USGI sight on one. This will probably require a highter front sight to match.

The Tech Sights are quite functional, easy to apply, and reasonably priced. They're also fugly, which is why I won't use them. :wink:

Check out the NDS-13 rear sight from NoDak Spud. It's a similar sight to the factory set up but doesn't have the rail.

Took mine out this weekend. Almost 100% hits on a prairie dog target at 25 yards (offhand)=a few called misses.. Wife shot her new International as well. Both were a "hoot". All three of the 15 round "dummy" factory mags worked fine.

I don't think they're "fugly" at all. Here's two Nodak versions. One with the integrated rail, one without. Both with Tech Sights' fronts.

M1 carbine sights are cheap enough to experiment with. Buy one and try to make it work. I put them on my mini's.
