When did ruger stop useing walnut wood on the 10/22?

They still use walnut on some models. I suspect you’re asking about the “standard “ 10/22 carbine. I don’t have the answer for that but someone will.

Thanks. I have one made in 1973, and it looks like walnut, but veery plain.
needs to be refinished. Thanks again.

I have read it was 1984, but I am not expert.
I have a Liberty Sporter that is walnut, but some of it under the metal is so light I took the buttplate off to be sure.
