I recently picked up a 10/22 s/s synthetic stock, noticed the butt plate can be pried off w/some gentle coaxing. Anyone (ruger) ever think of puuting a trap or hinge on this for storage?

I saw this post over at Rimfire Central on installing Sling Studs on that type of Hollow Factory Stock..

I would imagine that with the propper type of hinge + latch & Epoxy anything is possible, As you can see from the pics in that thread I linked you too, There's alot of room in there for a AR-15 Cleaning Kit, Weights etc..
My factory Synthetic Stock was made Earlier & it"s Solid & haven't ever thought of trying to remove the butt pad on it.. Might be solid ?? Don't want to ruin it..

I've got a Savage M93 with a hollow synthetic stock. I don't use it for storage but I did glue some weights in there just because the gun was barrel heavy, at least to me.
What you gonna put in there?
