10/22 set screws

Just got a 10/22.
Trying to take the set screws out but Ruger has them in so tight I'm stripping the heads.
Any suggestions on how to get them out before I destroy them completely.

Which 'set screws' are you referring to?

Once you've stripped the heads I'd guess a drill.
Otherwise, depending on which screw, maybe heat and a good quality properly sized screwdriver.

If your referring to the screws that hold the scope base on,,, a hairdryer/ careful heat gun, solder gun tip on the head of the screw, etc., to heat up the lock tight. that should not have been used.
In addition,,, Proper sized screw driver, tapping it gently, as your counter clockwise.
