I have a 10/22 that I want to mount a scope on. It has a peep sight on it now. Will a new sight base mount where the rear peep is ?
A pic of your mount would be great.
Also looking for a scope any thought on that would be great. Looking to keep the scope price around $100.00.
Thanks Jeff

The mount will use the 4 holes atop the receiver unless you're using a barrel that has holes on the barrel shank for a specific mount. Even then, you'd need the horrendously ugly see-through rings to still allow use of the sights. Doing this puts the scope too high to get a good, proper cheek weld.
As for scopes...Without any more specific info regarding needs and uses, it's hard to say but at a minimum I'd suggest a Nikon or Mueller.

Thanks for the reply.
I will use the scope for 25-50 meter target shooting and chipmunk control at the house

For a scope look at a Mueller APV or APT. They are very good scopes for the money.

I would suggest either a VQ or an EGW cantilevered scope rail. I can never get a correct eye relief using the OEM rail. I also raise the comb or use an adjustable stock to get a cheek weld vs a jaw weld.

I adjust my set ups so that you can sling up and get into position with your eyes closed, open your eyes and see a complete, sharp edged view through the scope without moving your head.

I have a 4X Nikon rimfire scope on a 10/22 that I use out to 50 yards or more. The Nikon is fine for that and would meet your budget needs.

I used this rail on my 10/22.

The notched out center was enough to see the iron sites when the scope is removed. I use quick releases on my scope.

The one that I got has 3 cross slots instead of 2 I think they changed the design along the way.
