The adapter that came with my 10/22RBIB has 4 screws and screw holes in it, but will only match up with 2 of the screw holes in the receiver. I'm guessing that I have an adapter for a .22Mag receiver, not a .22LR. The existing adapter does allow me to mount a scope forward in a "scout rifle" configuration, but I can only use two screws. I'd rather use all four. My first thought is to contact Ruger customer service and see if I can get the correct base. Comments? Suggestions? Thanks! Hank in VA.

I think the magnum has the integral cut (slots) for the Ruger rings....is the plate you have the 3/8inch tip off ,grooved or the wider Weaver style for the 1 inch rings???? Is the gun 'new'?? in the box?? I'd give Ruger a call in to customer service........seems a bit 'odd', there are NOT a whole lot of scope base options from Ruger on the 10/22.......................................

Yes, the 10/22 mag which has been out of production for some time now, had the Ruger style integral mount. I'd be curious to see pics and any identifying marks on this base. Maybe one of how the holes align to each other (side=by-side pic) Now for a Scout type set-up, wouldn't you be wanting a barrel mount not one simply an inch forward of the normal base position?

If I mount a scope on a 10-22 I use either the VQ or EGW cantilevered rail. You can't mount the scope far enough forward to get a good cheek weld and proper eye relief.

To your OP, contact Ruger. Their CS is great.

I'll assume you tried the base in both directions... I prefer a picatinny style Weaver base on mine, and they are available for about $8.

I have the Weaver style base, for which I got a pair of 1" Weaver rings. I'll try to post pictures this pm. Taking my wife for some outpatient surgery today. Thanks for the help to all of you. Hank in Va.

as long as its the 'proper contour, to the top strap, you can always "modify" and using the two holes that do line up, add ( drill) two holes to "fit" the other set of holes...measure TWICE, drill once (neatness counts)

Yes Dan. Hadn't thought of that! That would work and has the benefit of quickness, even measuring TWICE!! Hank in Va.
