10 / 22 parts needed

With all the upgrades you guys do on your 10/22's. Some one got to have some old receivers / trigger groups and bolts. laying around. bought a 10/22 charger on a garage sale and all the guts are gone. Just want to get it together with basic parts don't need the fancy stuff. Trying to get it together for my boys birthday.

It's the receiver, trigger assembly and bolt that are about all people use when doing a build. The receiver of course is the actual firearms as it's the serial number part. Trigger assemblies...check ShootersDiscount or the classifieds over at RFC. Check the same places for bolts too. I got spare parts but none of those.

Well, those that go that route wouldn't buy a complete one - not necessary. Also, even a used one will be $100 so add in shipping and transfer fees and you're close to a decent used complete one. Start checking pawn shops and the used racks of your local shops.

Most people don't buy a complete gun and then throw away the serial numbered receiver. Give some thought to what you're asking.

I've been looking for a receiver to drop in a rescued 10/22 for over a year. Lately looking for an old beater or one damaged with an otherwise good receiver at a reasonable price. They are pretty darn scarce.

I think everyone is overlooking the biggest problem here. A 10/22 receiver can NOT be used in a charger stock without haveing it registered as an SBR. A new aftermarket receiver could be registered as a handgun and used in a charger stock but once its a rifle its a rifle. I was going to do this when the chargers first came out and I had an extra action looking for a home. I called the ATF twice worded differently trying to make sure there wasn't a loophole.
I'm not sure what all your looking for but it sounds like you only have the stock. If so it might be easier to sell the stock and put the money toward a used charger.IMHO

Really, Besides the problem of the difference (legally) between a 10/22 & charger receiver, the only way to make buying a new or used one worth it is to fine one locally to not have to pay shipping and transfer fees.
