This may be old news, but it is new to me. I got a 10/22 Commemorative edition, with the polymer stock and a ghost ring rear sight. I bought it at a charity auction. Immediately afterwards a guy came up to me and said, "The sight will be loose, you can't tighten it! It will break!"

Sure enough I got home and the rear sight is noticeably loose. All the screws are tiny and the sight is plastic, I do not want to just start tightening stuff.

Is this indeed a common or well-discussed problem?

Is there a standard fix?

Because I bought it at the auction (new, but not from a dealer), I cannot easily go back and try a few others.

Or am I stuck sending it back to Ruger?

Thanks

Sounds like a job for blue lock-tite on the threads. I use it to keep my scope mount screws from loosening on my 10-22 carbine.

You can get the Nodak rail/integrated rear sight. All machined T6 aluminum and hardcoat anodized.
