It's funny that somebody at Ruger would say that.
Maybe if you asked for Ruger "10/22 trigger assy part # B34, magazine latch" you would have gotten a better answer. And yes,, sometimes the folks at Ruger don't understand us.

I doubt that Ruger is making the "flat" mag release any more. If you look in shopruger.com you will see that B00034 is now an extended mag release, or as they call it 'new style'.

I guess they modified it & changed the part number by adding the zeros. Oh well, ya learn something new every day.

I am restoring a 1967 10/22 i would like to find a flush mag release for sale.
Welcome to the forum! Hopefully someone will post some suggestions - if you don't see a response right away, please check back in a day or two (not everyone is here, every day ;^)!
I got this new carbon fiber 10-22 a few days ago and it has a new mag release that I really like. You don't have to worry about inadvertently hitting that straight down mag release paddle when you pick
the rifle up and the mag falling to the ground like I've done several times.

I have one but I used it to replace the Butler Creek one in one of two metal triggers I have. That's where my nearly free parts lot got boosted.

While the newer ones shown in the pictures above are nice,, they won't be a period correct one like you need.
