I have a 10/22 being shipped as I type this to replace the one I gave my brother last year ( he had to have it ) hopefully I will get it next week ... I really liked it's reduced length, and weight .. Makes for a handy hiking compaion and truck gun ..

Not sure why it is being listed as "new." I have bought several over the years and built custom rifles for smaller woman by placing the action in a youth stock sold by Brownells. Makes a great rifle for someone standing around five foot nothing!

I find the compact carbine more to my liking , for squirrel and vermin hunting .. Light and and handy in the woods and thickets ..

I got my young cousins the compacts. even though I have not shoot theirs much, I found the reduced "rifle vs carbine" stock was very quick to get on target and fun to shoot at close range (under 50Y).

I have 16" barrel carbines, but they are not the same as the compact

I picked up a compact the other day, I had a takedown and liked it but I really like the compact. I am about 5'9 and 300 plus pounds and the stock is to my liking, plus my wife likes it too.
