Thanks Man. I think they did an exemplary job! Only problem is the trigger, hammer and base pin didn't get the same treatment!

Yes they did. Looks new, which a 70 year old gun shouldn't, but it deserve it!!
I should have clarified that. The conversion parts came out beautiful! The de-conversion parts I did not send them. They were out of a kit that I had on hand. But I have shorty that I will need to blue when it gets back from the 'smith. These parts will get taken care of at that time. If someone needs a conversion kit that looks brand new, let me know!! I called Ruger a few weeks ago about re-bluing shorty. They said a firearm sent in for any reason would be returned in as shipped condition. So I will try my hand at it...........

I hope to have Shortie back from the 'smith in a couple weeks. I stopped in earlier this week to drop off a grip frame, they told me it was going to the bench end of this week, early next week. Here's hoping...............

If I sent them shorty, they would install a 5 5/8" barrel on it, as shipped. If they agreed to take it at all. A liability issue, I assume. "As shipped" was his exact wording. I said "condition". He did not say that.

I understand what you’re saying… but I think with the refinish done, you should be able to get over it, with time.
If you’re not able to get over it… I’m sure Rust Bucket v2.0 is waiting out there for you, somewhere!

Thanks for the lead, Hondo. I was actually planning on using Mark Lee's Express Blue #1. I have the burner to boil the water, the stainless pots, a stainless pan to degrease and 0000 steel wool and brushes for the carding. I need to degrease the wool and brushes but I will do that when I get the gun and get it stripped and prepped. I have watched several videos on it; I have a huge oak stump out front I am gonna set the burner up on. I don.t have a garage or shop, gotta be done outside. I have a shelter I am gonna erect over it for shade. Just gotta get some more acetone and rust stripper, I will do that the day I pick the gun up. I also have 220, 310 and 400 grit w/d paper. The barrel is already striped and prepped, may need a bit more when it gets back from the 'smith. Will be the first gun I have totally blued since I was a kid! I cold blued a H&R 20 gauge and finished the stock. Turned out pretty good, at least to my very young eyes!

Well, Shorty should be ready in the next coupla days. Got a call from the 'smith this afternoon, got it ready, missing the hammer retainer screw to finish assembly and test fire. I would've taken it this evening, but I hate traffic, and it's stop and go, take 30 minutes to go 5 miles! The barrel will be raw, I will put the reworked xr3 red frame on it, let it pose for dome pics, then get ready for the bluing. Here is the single six before.
Hopefully I will get it back tomorrow, I have range duty Saturday, so it would be Tuesday before I can pick it up if not. Got my toes crossed!!

Picked up Shorty today, and they did a fantastic job. I ask them to time the barrel so the rollmark was on the side. Did it perfectly! I really like the short erh. Thanks Hondo for advising it. Works great! Got the worked down gf and grips on it. They even put an 11 degree target crown on it!

Looks good overall. But good thing it's not blued yet. I don't understand how the ejector housing came out an 1/8" short of the rear edge of the barrel chamfer, and align with the front of the front sight.
For an old model, Single Six the funnel shaped crown looks a little like a continental kit on a Model T doesn't it?

Thanks much, Hondo. As for the erh, they put it exactly where I asked them to, 1/8 to 3/16 off end of barrel. I toyed with it before I took it to them with another barrel, decided I liked the look of the break at the end of the barrel rather than the blunt look of the sight/barrel/erh. Call me weird, just my preference. Blame it on me.
