They are both good guns.
But for me , being I am not a big single action fan , it would be the MKII hands down.

MK-II, ain’t even close.
Welllll…. I like both, and have several of both.I found a stainless Government model today and traded my single ten for it.I still got a Single 10 with a 4 5/8 barrel and a bunch of single sixes and Bearcats.Also have several different MKII's and 1 MKI .The Government model looks new and was made in 1994, and has the test target which is a plus.
Also got 3 mags with it.

I got a slabside too, actually 2. One is the 6 7/8” like yours and I have a 5.5” too.

Hard choice. I'm a single action guy but I would probably go for the mk ii. If nothing else I could get it threaded.
Since I outgrew my days of Roy Rogers and the Lone Ranger, I've not had much need/desire for a single action 22 revolver. Unless this is a nostalgia purchase, I'm voting for the accuracy and usefulness of the semi-auto.

THAT MK-II versus the Single ten is a no brainer. Other variations may have different results.
Well, they both are good property, but my preference would be for the MKII Government, it just fills all the boxes of stainless steel, MKII Government Target. But that's just me, I could very easily understand someone having the opposite preference.

Ditto on Hittman's slabside. It will shoot WAY better than me on any given day. I love my single six, heavily tinkered with over the years, but that MK!! is hands-down a better shooter.

They're both great in their designated fields. I've been shooting Government Targets and modified Gov't Targets for years. The bottom one is my go to .22 Government Target. Only thing left that is Ruger is the upper receiver. And I'm probably going to shorten the barrel 2" to lighten it up and add some VQ sights. Then it will be complete. It's my steel challenge gun.

I don't like stainless but since they're both SS I guess I would take the MKII since it's likely going to hold value better for longer. I've never looked at a Single 10 up close and they are intriguing. I'd sell both anyway.

Semi's can be fussy about ammo,and certainly won't function with cb's or shorts.The revolver won't care what you put in it.
Government Target Model Mark II, stainless or blued, is Iconic.

My rimfires spend a fair amount of time at the range in the hands of kids. Adding a can has made all the difference in the world to their enjoyment. Reloads are another plus, starting with several loaded mags versus poking out the empty brass to reload.
All that to say there is no bad choice between the two.

The MKll GT checks more boxes for me but you really should treat yourself to both. They are both great firearms.

Single Sixes and Mark II's are my favorite .22 handguns. Never had a Single Ten but I'm sure I would love it.
The only logical choice is keep both. You shouldn't have to choose. They are both lots of fun in a different kind of way.
It probably costs more money and requires more talent to manufacture the Single Ten than the Mark II.
