A few years ago I picked up a 1970 Standard in a package deal. No doubt the Standard had seen some hard times. The grip panels were messing and the frame and receiver had been worked over with about every tool in the box.
I sent the Standard into to Ruger for a refurbished. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they included refurbished grip panels for free. No charge.
I kept the gun for a few years, but would never shoot it. It was a safe resident.
I decided to give it to my Nephew so that he and his son could enjoy it for generations to come.
