RW grip frame grips

Well, now that the brass grip frame is finished,, it's on to making the grips. I forgot to take a picture of the wood before I started. But all I've done is start the rounded cut-out for the curve of the bisley shape at the top. the wood is American Holly, and I'm going to try & show the progression of work.

thinckley,, I've progressed a little. Check out my other post.

To expound a bit on what to do in making grips.

First,, the inside of the blocks must be smooth & FLAT. Then, I use the flat corners on the frame, to square up the blanks with the frame. On the bisley design,, you have to cut out the radius to allow this. Once you get the radius properly sanded out, to where the top square edges & all fit tightly, THEN you can drill out the grip pin locator hole.
And while everything is still flat,, I drill my grip screw pilot hole after making sure the hammer strut & spring isn't going to bind against it.
From there,, it's on to the contour work.
