I've got a few 1 of 1 Rugers from later years. This one comes to mind:
Six stainless .357 Maximum revolvers were made, 3 were destroyed leaving 3 in existence but the other two have 10.5" barrels.

That's really a great way to put it. I was describing a rare/obscure/unusual Ruger (of which I am inordinately proud ;^) to my nephew, and he commented:
"So it's super rare but nobody cares."
Kind of took the wind out if my sails, but he was actually right; it might be of interest to a few Ruger collectors, but to most folks "it's just a Ruger 9mm".
As always IMHO, FWIW, YMMV, etc., etc.

He would be drooling for sure. You should have seen the day he and I were in my car when the transmission gave out. That was the most expensive Ruger I own when the towing bill is figured in. I felt like using the 96/22 I bought from him to put my car out of its misery. Picture 2 large bearded guys in a Chevy Spark and the transmission goes Zingggg-Thunk and the thing stops moving.... Here I am in Dueling Banjos country with Jack picking up the 96/22 from his house and we look at each other and start laughing. The car started lurching forward again and I take him back to his shop and try to get home from there. I get about 3 miles from his shop on a hill and the thing completely stops moving. I have AAA so I called them. Meanwhile the Borough Police stop and ask what is going on. I explained the situation to the officer who put out road flares and offered to get me coffee from the local convenience store. The towtruck gets there and we figure out the distance from the location I am broke down at to the dealership that told me that the transmission was fine. After the AAA mileage was exceeded I still owed for almost 100 miles of towing. I will say that the dealership did replace the CVT transmission under 100% warranty but it was an adventure that I would not care to repeat.Bob,, I bet that Jack would give his eye-teeth to have that Maxi!
It's one of the P89Ms that Ruger made for the Chicago PD - IIRC, total production was 700+ (so not "super rare" ;^) but only 59 went to civilians. Basically an unusual or obscure gun in nice shape, that I pull out of the safe on the rare occasions that I need a conversation starter or "barbecue gun".

I sort of feel that way about the Super Single Six I just purchased, D553553. According to RENE there's only one other known "D" stamped SC5. I have no box, no paperwork other than a copy of the Shipping Order and a Letter on order. So, it's rare and a cool serial number, but I doubt there's any real collectors value… Now, if I could acquire the matching 553553 gun that might be something.That's really a great way to put it. I have one of about 20 no-prefix brass frame Super Blackhawks and last I heard, those were fetching $15K and up. Which makes me ponder the value of a desirable 1-of-1 gun like the KBNM7.

Do stainless and walnut Lipseys mk 2 and Hawkeye RSIs count as rare?

260 and 243 are NIB and my 3006 has been fired but as new.
Sure would like to have the same in 308.
Not sure about rarity on some of my paddle stocks, but there's a lot of folks wanting the 260 and 7.62x39 that I have.

I'd like to add my H.H. Sefried gun, (two known) Bill R. owns the other one, last I knew. Without Harry H. Sefried there be no Ruger 1022 rifle, Hawkeye pistol, Redhawks pistols ect. he was to me, a master gun designer.

yes, its a 41 cal, same as Bill R. given to him I believe for Christmas 1958 by Harry S. I think its in Dougan 2nd book. really nice piece of history of the ruger co. I beleave Harry S. is the modern day John Browning. but, that's just me!
I would add the the only known stainless Hawkeye pistol would be right up there as well. I know the owner. some day ill get out if this hands!
