Hello everyone! New member here long time Ruger fan! I have acquired a Oklahoma Highway Patrol Mini 14. It is one of the Stainless folding stock and bayonet lug with flash hider on the barrel. Can anyone here provide me information on this? How common are these and what quantity were made for this? Thanks to all!

My Mini-14 came to me with a stainless folding stock but didn't leave the factory that way according to Ruger.
And now a company is making those stocks again.
Don't know if that hurt the value of old stocks.
Know if the factory will verify they made it that way it'd be a help on value though.

You may never know unless others here have found out.
Ruger usually doesn't discuss production numbers BUT:

1. With Ruger you never say never.
2. Since it was a government contract, someone here likely knows.

Did Ruger confirm they shipped it with the folding stock?

They did confirm that it came that way. Let me see if I can get a photo of the letter.

Thank you. It does not have any OSHP markings on it. I sent in for the letter just to confirm it was a original stainless folder gb barrel rifle and was surprised when the letter came back that it was a OSHP rifle. I am just trying to find out how common these are. There are articles on the full stock version with the red rubber butt pad and OHP marked on the receivers but I am so far unable to find any information on this version.

RENE's probably got your info. I "think" the more rare variations were without folding stock.
Also think not all were marked OHP.

I was just surprised when the letter came back the way it did and was just hoping that everything was original, and it just surprised me that it was OSHP and now i'm intrigued about it. Thanks!

Issued to the Oklahoma highway patrol lake division and the Governors Guards back in the early 90s.
Thank you. There seems to be very little information on these that I can find. The Ruger letter says that this one went to the Oklahoma highway patrol in 1982.
