As the OP -
Here is hoping the 'rivers' flow back toward my original question. Any one who wants to comment about Ruger CMD relaibility in general or particularly with SWC bullets please continue to share your experiences. To those posters who have already done so, thanks.
To those that want...
Rev,
I appreciate what you are saying. The SWC's I possess are Black Hills Factory New. I do have some 200gr. SWC bullets but since I am a farily new handloader I am presently working with H&G34 230gr. RNL and Lyman Type 235gr. RNL bullets until I become a better handloader and only in 5"...

The mixed responses here only serve to illustrate that one persons Ugly Duckling is another persons Favorite. FWIW I would probablyhave to fork over the $ if Ruger ever does make a run of the OD SR45's.
I had a blued 2 & 3/4 in 38 SPL and stupidly let it go. I was a nice shooting pistol 15 yards and in. I have several boxes of .38SPL in my basement for the day when I acquire another except hopefully this one will be stainless. If you have funds I would jump on that deal.
I realize that Ruger is probably up to its eyeballs just dealing with current production demands but I wonder if we will ever see the SR 45 sporting and OD frame someday?
