I realize that Ruger is probably up to its eyeballs just dealing with current production demands but I wonder if we will ever see the SR 45 sporting and OD frame someday?

Oh, I wish, in a compact model...

It's a funny thing, but a few years ago, you couldn't hardly give away a OD frame pistol of almost any brand. I saw Rugers, Glocks, and XDs in the cases that were marked down just because they had the OD frame. Now, they command a premium.

My SR9 in OD is the ugliest pistol I ever owned. It is also the best 9mm I ever owned. But OD...yuck. Hoffman's in Newington, CT., was selling them for an incredible $299 ("Green Sale") about 3 years ago. I had to bite and I'm glad I did....but olive drab......I had to put a black limbsaver rubber grip on it which blended nicely with the black slide to cover as much green as I could.

bought one in od and one stainless a few years back, a daughter turned 21 and liked the SR9 so she got her choice. she picked the stainless model, I got the "ugly duckling". to be honest with you it has grown on me. I like the looks of that one best.

The mixed responses here only serve to illustrate that one persons Ugly Duckling is another persons Favorite. FWIW I would probablyhave to fork over the $ if Ruger ever does make a run of the OD SR45's.
