    Model 77 sling studs loose?

Thanks. Both studs. Not so sure I want to use the epoxy. May just try a half turn on both

    Model 77 sling studs loose?

The sling studs are a bit loose on my Model 77. Just noticed. What is the best way to tighten them and keep them tight? I don't want to take a chance on over-tightening them.

Polishing out light scratches on a 1985 stainless Mk II

Scotch-Brite maroon pads are the most recommend "tool" for dealing with scratches on Ruger handguns. Move the pad in the direction of the "finish" already on the gun. Do not rub in the direction of the barrel.

    Ruger American vs. Ruger M77

Yep, bought a Model 77 in 1982. IMO it was the best looking rifle on the market at that time. Period. Blued steel, good wood, no monte carlo stock, excellent mounting system for a scope. Just simple clean lines. Still have it and use it every deer season. We've both aged a bit but I think...

    Gun Weight

A 2 3/4 Speed Six is my choice in centerfires. If I didn't have this gun, I'd probably go for an SP101. Speed Six is about 30 ounces. SP101 is a little less. However, my most carried gun is a 5 1/2 inch bull barreled Mark II. Over 40 ounces. I use both a shoulder rig and a hip holster...

What rifle are you using for deer?

.308 tang safety M77 with its original Tasco 4X scope. Bad weather, heavy cover gun...and open sighted .44 mag 7 1/2 in Redhawk. It's worked for me for over thirty years why mess up a good thing. Tom

Are these scratches on a new gun enough to justify a call...

If the scratches bother you enough to post a question, they bother you enough to send the gun back to Ruger. I took a Bisley Hunter back to my dealer for similar markings. They took back the gun and ordered another for me. It sometimes "pays" to work with a "pricey" dealer that guarantees...

Shoulder holster carry for 3" SP101?

Yep...good holsters..period. Wear forever. I even found a place where I can get a "Pull to Dot" snap....saved $28.95 on a new holster for my Mark II...good for another 30 years (even if I am not). Tom

Shoulder holster carry for 3" SP101?

$28.95 from Optics Planet. http://www.opticsplanet.net/2-3-inch-barrel-small-and-medium-double.html I plan to order another one for my Mark II Bull Barrel. After 25 years and considerable use, one of the snaps has finally worn out. The rest of the holster is in great shape. Hard to beat the...

Shoulder holster carry for 3" SP101?

I usually carry my 2 3/4 inch Speed Six in an Uncle Mike's vertical shoulder holster. I find it to be quite comfortable. http://www.unclemikes.com/products/sidekick_vertical_shoulder_holsters.html Tom

The two new .22 Ruger revolvers

Neither. Just don't care for their looks. I own four Ruger handguns and two Ruger rifles so I really am a Ruger guy. But then I really didn't care for the looks of the Security Six (had three of them :? ) and traded my last one for GP100 as soon as they arrived on the scene. Oh, I have fiber...
