Clip one leg off the spring, it makes changing the mag easier too.

I've got these mis-matched stags - the right side grip is proud of the grip frame (XR3) and the left side fits fairly well. What do I do with them? send them to grasshorn and get the mis-matched set fitted to an XR3 frame? try to find someone else with a single panel? Thanks Guys!

The magazine for a 1967 gun should have a slot head rotor screw as shown in the photo, and have chrome feed lips, not stainless. These are harder to find since they were only supplied with non-prefixed guns.

Actually that could be a second issue 10/22r, they made a walnut run from 128-88849 thru 129-19254. 1986-1989.

Price depends on condition and if it is checkered or not. The uncheckered model is the rarer. I think the price quoted is fair for a close to new checkered model. This is the cheapest way to get a checkered fingergroove, by far the best 10/22 imo.

The gun was made in mid 1965. The checkered fingergrooves were introduced in May 1966 ~serial 65xxx. Like 66 says with Ruger you never know for sure without lettering the gun, but I would guess this one will not letter.

The serial number you posted would put production of that gun before the fingergroove was introduced, by a good margin. I bet that gun was originally a carbine and the stock added later, look for marks on the barrel where the barrel band was. Still being a rare stock, it should still bring...
